Their statement read, “Statement from the two of us. After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
According to an AP report, Joe Jonas is seeking joint custody of their children, as stated in the divorce documents. The couple had a prenuptial agreement that Jonas expects to be enforced, as mentioned in the filing.
The couple’s love story began in October 2016 when Joe initiated contact by sending a direct message on Sophie’s Instagram. Their romance eventually led to a surprise wedding. Sophie and Joe tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Las Vegas in May 2019, with country duo Dan + Shay performing at the wedding. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Willa, in July 2020, and in July 2022, they became parents to a second baby girl, whose name they have not yet disclosed.
