A 35-year-old woman’s body was found at her home in Northeast Delhi’s Khajuri Khas with injuries on her forehead and a chunni wrapped around her neck, the police said.
DCP (Northeast) Joy Tirkey said they received a PCR call in this regard at around 8 pm on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Draupadi, wife of Sunil, and her body was found pushed under a bed, face down. Spots of blood were also found all around the room.
“The daughter said her stepfather Sunil had been missing since September 16 (Saturday) when he had locked the door of their room. Local enquiries revealed that Sunil and Draupadi fought with each other almost every day and she was last seen alive by her daughter at around 12.30 pm on September 16,” the DCP said. The locked room was opened in the presence of the landlord and the body was discovered.
“The deceased had an injury on her forehead and a chunni was wrapped around her neck, the DCP said. The body was identified by Draupadi’s daughter, who is aged around 15.
