Keeping his focus on voters from Dalit and OBC communities in a bid to get them to vote for BJP candidate Dara Singh Chauhan in the upcoming Ghosi Assembly bypoll, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Saturday invoked the 1995 incident where Samajwadi Party leaders had allegedly attempted to assault BSP leader Mayawati.
“When SP got the opportunity, it did the state guest house ‘kaand (incident)’, changed the name of a medical college named after Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and a university named after Kanshiram (BSP founder)”, Adityanath said at a rally.

Without naming Mayawati, who had during her tenure as CM made several memorials and parks named after Ambedkar and Kanshiram, among others.
Adityanath said when the SP was in the opposition, Akhilesh Yadav had insulted great personalities by saying that after coming to power he would demolish these memorials to open marriage halls. “Can there be a bigger insult than this to the great men? With more than 60,000 voters coming from the community, Dalits hold the key in the bypolls in BSP’s absence.
